12 Salesforce Members are invited to Join us in building a new stronghold for rhinos in the wild.

Rhinos remain under enormous pressure from poaching for their horns, driven largely by illegal wildlife trade and the continued belief in some markets that rhino horn has medicinal or status value.

In South Africa’s Waterberg, we are helping build something much bigger than a short-term response: a new, connected stronghold where rhinos can be returned, protected and managed for generations.

In 2025, 52 white rhinos were reintroduced into this landscape. Landowners have since begun removing internal fences to create a much larger protected area, more rhinos are being brought in, and our teams are working on the veterinary, monitoring and security infrastructure needed to support them.

In May 2027, I would love to invite a private team from Salesforce ANZ to become part of it.

HIGHLIGHTS

COLLAR AND WORK WITH WILD RHINOS
Work alongside our wildlife veterinary team as rhinos are located by helicopter, immobilised, examined and fitted with GPS monitoring collars that help the reserve track and protect them.

WORK ACROSS A BIG FIVE RESERVE
This is a living conservation landscape, home to elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and an extraordinary diversity of other wildlife. Alongside the rhino work, the team will be involved in the wider wildlife and reserve operations taking place that week.

HELP BUILD A NEW RHINO STRONGHOLD
You are joining an active rewilding project while it is being built: rhinos are being brought back, fences are coming down and previously separated properties are becoming one much larger protected landscape.

LIVE ON THE RESERVE
Stay in beautiful private accommodation in the Waterberg mountains, surrounded by wildlife and based directly in the landscape you are helping protect.

LED BY ONE OF YOUR OWN
The mission will be led by Angie from Salesforce ANZ, who joined both Rhino Rewild and our Selati rhino programme in 2026 and has already worked alongside this team in the field.

LEAVE SOMETHING BEHIND
This mission directly supports the reserve’s rhino monitoring program, including GPS collars and associated monitoring infrastructure, with a dedicated Salesforce ANZ impact report after the mission.

WHAT WE’RE BUILDING

Reintroducing a rhino is only the beginning. Once an animal is back in the wild, it needs to be monitored and protected, the veterinary team needs to be able to respond when required, and the landscape itself needs to be large and secure enough for the population to grow.

That is what Rhino Rewild is working towards in the Waterberg.

The Salesforce team will join us during an intensive field week working directly with the rhino and reserve teams: locating animals from the air and ground, immobilising and collaring rhinos, collecting monitoring data and contributing to the wider wildlife work required across the reserve.

This is not a conservation demonstration created for visitors. You will be joining the same team doing the work whether we are there or not.

LED BY ONE OF YOUR OWN

Angie has already done this.

She joined Global Protagonists in South Africa in 2026, working alongside our teams on Rhino Rewild and at Selati, and understands both the conservation project and what the experience is actually like on the ground.

In 2027, she will return with a team of Salesforce colleagues.

That means your mission lead is not only someone from within Salesforce, but someone who already knows the people, the project and the work firsthand.

THE SALESFORCE ANZ RHINO MONITORING PROJECT

We want the impact of the week to continue after the team has gone home.

A defined part of the mission contribution will help fund the next stage of rhino monitoring across the reserve, including GPS collars and associated monitoring infrastructure.

After the mission, Global Protagonists will produce a dedicated Salesforce ANZ Impact Report documenting what the team worked on, the conservation contribution made and the outputs achieved.

The goal is to be able to report something tangible:

Rhinos worked on. Collars deployed. Monitoring infrastructure funded. A growing population better protected.

TRAVEL, LOGISTICS + ACCOMMODATION

The reserve is approximately two hours north of Johannesburg, in the spectacular Waterberg region of South Africa.

The Salesforce team will travel together from the designated meeting point in Johannesburg, with all ground transport organised by Global Protagonists.

For the week, we will have beautiful private accommodation on the reserve, with private bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, a swimming pool, shared dining and sweeping views across the bush.

Wildlife is everywhere. Giraffes wander past, elephants and other Big Five species move through the reserve, and leopard are present in the surrounding landscape.

It is comfortable and beautiful, but most importantly, we are staying inside the conservation landscape we are working to protect.
